Although fences are usually considered
protectors of a yard, or boundary outlines, they can also be
used to add beautiful patterns to your yard or garden.

Outline or Enhance Areas of
Your Yard of Garden
Fences attract attention to
the areas they surround. Perhaps you have a
lovely garden and would like to outline it with a
decorative fence.
Maybe you've planted a
colorful flower bed and want to use a small,
decorative wire fence as a finishing touch.

Fences can be used to mark areas where
your children play, or relaxing spots you've designed just
for yourself. Fence in an area where there's a swing
and a hammock for privacy while you relax outdoors.
Outline your tomato plants or your favorite floral bushes
with a small decorative fence. Mini-fences can be used to
form walkways or border your sidewalk. Add some
matching outdoor solar lights
alongside your fences for illumination at
night.
Choosing the Right Fence for Your Yard
There are many choices when it comes
to fencing. Wooden fences have been very popular for decor
because they offer so many different patterns and
styles. The fence post caps, fence poles and the
fencing itself can each be customized to fit your decor
needs. Wood fences can also be painted different
colors to match your yard or garden design. A drawback
of owning a wood fence is that some maintenance is required,
such as painting.
Vinyl Fencing
A popular alternative is vinyl
fencing, which is quickly becoming a widely used product for
yard decor. Vinyl fences can usually be matched
design-for-design with wooden fences. The only
difference is that vinyl requires little maintenance and
holds up well against moisture, wind and sunlight.
Vinyl fences come in a variety of colors also.
Wire Fences
Choose wire fencing for a simple look
that's easy to set up. Wire fences are great for
outlining small areas of your yard or areas where animals
are kept. Shop around to find a colorful wire fence
that matches your decor for added beauty.
Once you choose your fencing, try to imagine how it will
look in your yard before installing it, so you'll be sure to
accomplish your goal. Fencing provides a simple way to
create walkways, patterns and outlining borders in your
garden.
