NOTE: This is NOT SEO! 4 Concrete Promotion Types for Internet Marketers
Read on and move forward…
SEO is an extremely powerful tool for driving more visitors to your site, but it’s also one that can be a little fickle.
Getting the major search engines to rank your site is hard work, and there’s no guarantee you won’t lose your position at any given point.
Thankfully, you’ll discover in this post many other ways to get people to learn about and visit your site.
Read these great options now…
ONE: Use Social Networks (the Smaller Ones too)for Marketing Online
Hopefully, I don’t need to tell you that you should be promoting your site on Facebook and Twitter, but while you’re at it don’t forget to look at some of the second-tier networks like Instagram (a good picture with the right tag can do wonders!) and Tumblr.
At the same time, you might also be able to benefit from some small networks are that specific to your niche — like Bodyspace for instance if you have a bodybuilding/fitness site. These sites provide you with more targeted traffic and at the same time aren’t quite as competitive.
Also, consider question and answer sites such as Yahoo Answers, etc.
TWO: PPC (Pay-Per-Click Ads) – Can You Spare Some Extra Change?
Many bloggers and webmasters will avoid paying for their marketing at any cost. Of course, this completely rules out PPC.
But, this is a mistake, particularly if the site has been well monetized; in which case this can actually be a very profitable strategy. PPC allows you to easily scale your business and your profits.
And, don’t forget to try sites like Facebook for your PPC. AdWords isn’t the only source and, depending on your niche, other networks may suit you better.
THREE: Email Marketing Works!
Email marketing is something a lot of bloggers also tend to put off. That’s because it can take a long time before you see results from this type of Internet marketing.
But, keep in mind that many of the biggest Internet marketing names in the world say that internet marketing is THE most important tool for them.
Why? Because, it gives you a direct line of communication with your audience, and one that no one can take away from you.
Even if Google de-indexes you and Facebook deletes your account, you still have email marketing!
FOUR: Think about Offline Website Promotion
Finally, let’s consider another way you can still generate a lot of traffic offline.
This could mean hanging posters or handing out fliers (especially effective if you have a locally based business site). Or, it might just mean chatting to people and exchanging business cards.
Sometimes the old methods still work best!
There you have it! But, don’t stop here.
When it comes to Internet marketing, an assortment of methods might work. It’s your job to find the one or two which work best for your site or blog.
